If you want to do that in Virtualmin / Webmin follow the instructions:
1. Log into Webmin
2. Go to left column: click on “Servers” (should open)
3. Click on “Apache Webserver”
4. Click on “Global configuration” TAB
5. Click on the “Miscellaneous” icon
6. From “Server HTTP header” option, select: Product only.
7. Click on the upper right corner “Apply Changes” (this is mandatory for this to work)

That’s it.

Thank you!!! tried this at first with no luck but the other comments made me go back and look at my ‘/etc/apache2/conf.d/security’ file which was overriding the others.. Worked like a charm (Debian).

Thank you for the great article! As mentioned by Clemente, the file to modify in Debian or Ubuntu is

/etc/apache2/conf.d/security

and in CentOS
/etc/apache2/apache2.conf

In our case we modified on /etc/apache2/conf.d/security file
